I just found a feature in SSMS 2012 that I did not notice before. There is the ability, like in excel, to drag a handle down and split the query window. This is a pretty neat feature that will keep you from jumping up and down in the window to view the code.
Here is how it works: Drag the mouse over the handle in the top right hand corner of the query window.
When you drag this down, the query window looks like this and you able to scroll in the bottom and top portions, independently:
